Water in the Ha Long Bay is measured in both dry and rainy seasons with temperature, salinity, turbidity, DO, TSS, pH. Surface sediment is measured pH, Eh, particles size, minerals. The quality water of the bay is generally within the Vietnamese Standard for aquaculture. The type surface sediments distribute from sand to silt, in which the silt occupies a large area in the Ha Long Bay. The values of pH and Eh in surface sediment show that sedimentary environments light alkaline – reduced. The high content of minerals in surface sediment is quartz, kaolinite, illite, calcite, and goethite. The water in the bay is impacted from mainland by showing the change of salinity, turbidity, TSS.
