Abstract

The study identifies the level of understanding and consumption behavior of safe vegetable products (RAT) in Thai Nguyen city through interviewing 252 consumers. It is indicated that the understanding and consumption of RAT is limited. At present, RAT prices are high, quality is unreliable and shops selling these products are few. These are considered as main factors hindering consumers in their buying decisions. However, 86.9% of the respondents are willing to pay more if the vegetables are really safe and it is acceptable for prices to be 50% higher than for regular vegetables, indicating that this is a potential consumer market.

Keywords: Consumption behavior, understanding, safe vegetables, regular vegetables.
