Abstract

The article points out some new trends in Vietnam's criminal law based on analyzing and evaluating the main new contents of the Criminal Code 2015 (amended and supplemented in 2017). Firstly, the article analyzes some trends in the development of crime regulations in the direction of criminalizing socially dangerous acts that have recently appeared in the process of national development and decriminalizing some criminal acts prescribed in the Criminal Code 1999 are no longer dangerous to society, including the fields of economics, environment, high technology, and human rights. Secondly, the article clarifies the trend of developing humanity in criminal justice based on the provisions of the Criminal Code 2015. The article also pays attention to the study of the issue of internationalization and internalization of criminal regulations in international treaties to which Vietnam is a member country as shown in the Criminal Code 2015. Based on the above results, the article proposes several recommendations to continue to change and improve Vietnam's criminal law in the future.
