Orientations for Applying Genetative AI in Teaching Language Arts in High Schools

Abstract

In the current context teaching Language Arts in Vietnamese high schools, the integration of generative AI has become both inevitable and essential. However, to date, there remains a lack of comprehensive research providing specific guidance on applying AI across the core pillars of reading comprehension, writing, speaking and listening, and Vietnamese language practice. Utilizing methods of literature analysis, synthesis, and pedagogical experimentation, this study proposes frameworks for integrating popular generative AI tools—such as ChatGPT and Gemini—into the high school Literature curriculum. These applications are designed to facilitate a process-oriented approach to language skills, ensuring alignment with lesson objectives while fostering a dynamic, engaging, and modern learning environment. Ultimately, these proposals aim to cultivate learners' qualities and competencies, contributing to the national digital transformation agenda to enhance the quality of education in general and Language Arts instruction in particular.
