Survey Onknowledge and Impacts of Medication Consultation in Diabetes Patients in Phuc Yen Region General Hospital

Abstract

Objectives: This study aimed to survey the knowledge and impacts of medication consultation about special dosage form in diabetespatients in Phuc Yen Hospital. Subjects and method: Diabetes patients in Endocrinology Department of Phuc Yen hospital who use one of diabetes medications including Diamicron MR, Panfor SR and Insulin in a period from 01/9/2016 to 15/01/2017. These patients was consulted on the use of diabete medication by clinical pharmacists and periodically evaluated in each month.Results: At the beginning of research, percentage of patients using accurately diabetes medication was approximately 50%. After 3 months, there was a significant increase in knowledgeof patients (p<0.05). The percentage of patients knowledge was approximately 90%.Conclusion: Medication consulting activities improved significantly the knowledge of patients on using diabetes medications.
