Abstract

Prejudices on elderly, especially negative prejudices, have great impacts on attitudes, behaviors, health and social participation of older people. Studies show that there are many factors affecting the formation of social prejudice against the elderly. In this article, the authors point out a number of factors in stereotype-related social interaction that shape social prejudices against individuals and propose policy implications aiming at reducing these negative prejudices and ensuring the rights of the elderly.
