Abstract
Through some scientific works, articles author analyzed methods applied by Prof.
Dao Duy Anh in his research. According to that the objective reconstruction of socio -
economic life of people on bases of the collection and the treatment thorough whole of
source always has to be considered as a key operation for any historical work. Near half
of century ago Prof. Dao Duy Anh had used multidisciplinary approach and with
profound learning of a polyhistor he carried out scientific research on high level. Before
raising any own conclusion he always carefully reviewed opinions of previous scholars
and paved the way for continuous researchers. Article’s author drew conclusion that
concrete scientific understandings could be changed and scientific works of Prof. Dao
Duy Anh are not an exception, but his research methods are still up to now an example
for contemporary historians.
