Abstract

This study focuses on the role of ChatGPT in supporting university teaching, particularly in the context of digital transformation. It identifies opportunities and challenges while providing recommendations for more effective application of technology in education. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 42 lecturers at the Thai Nguyen University of Education and 13 semi-structured interviews. This method helps clarify practical experiences and supplement survey data. The results indicate that ChatGPT offers numerous benefits such as personalized learning, instant feedback, and support for faculty professional development. However, challenges include accuracy, academic integrity, and over-reliance on technology. The study emphasizes the importance of training teachers to use ChatGPT effectively and responsibly. Additionally, it suggests addressing ethical issues and technology dependence to optimize the benefits of artificial intelligence in higher education.
