Abstract

This study was conducted to understand the current situation and propose nutritional education measures for 5-6-year-old children through experiential activities in some preschools in Thai Nguyen province. Quantitative and qualitative methods were applied in the study. Survey results with 89 preschool teachers showed that nutritional education activities for children through experiential activities were the least applied (average score of 1.70). To demonstrate the advantages of this educational method, we conducted an experiment at Tan Long preschool, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province, with 32 children aged 5-6. The experiential activity designed was "Children making fruit yogurt smoothies." The experimental results showed that 100% of the child groups successfully made the fruit yogurt smoothie product; all children actively participated and enthusiastically engaged in the activity. Additionally, the children all showed a liking for and a desire to continue participating in similar activities in the future. The pedagogical experiment results provide clear evidence of the effectiveness of applying nutritional education through experiential activities. This affirms that the combination of practical education and real-world experience can create a positive learning environment and stimulate the comprehensive development of children.
