Abstract

The Mekong Delta is one of the potential regions for science and technology (S&T) development in Vietnam, especially in the field of agricultural production and export aquatic products processing. Despite the fact that the labour rate of the Mekong Delta is high, science and technology human resources of this region do not meet the need of the local science and technology development – one of the important promoting factors for the region’s socio-economic development. This paper focuses on some aspects of the social mobility management policy on S&T human resources from the social mobility perspective and thereby, outlining the scenario for this special workforce development. Furthermore, the article provides evidences for the upcoming human resources development policy in the Mekong Delta.
