International Experiences with Policy Instruments for Mobilizing Private Sector in Emission Reduction
Main Article Content
Abstract
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions to limit global temperature rise in this century to less than 2°C above pre-industrial levels was identified as a global task at the 2015 Paris Agreement. However, this task which requires huge resources is a challenge for all countries. In fact, besides the state resources, the private sector in many countries has emerged as the main driver in efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the last two decades. This article explains the above trend and analyzes the content of mobilizing private resources for GHG emission reduction. Most importantly, this article summarizes and discusses in depth the implementing measures in some countries to successfully mobilize private resources.
