Main Article Content
Abstract
The bioeconomy is emerging as an important pathway toward sustainable development in the Mekong Subregion. Drawing on the area’s exceptional biodiversity and extensive agricultural resources, countries in the region have the chance to move beyond conventional growth models toward a higher-value bio-based economy. This paper reviews the current status of bioeconomy initiatives in Mekong Subregion countries and examines the roles played by regional mechanisms and partnerships with international stakeholders. Based on this analysis, it outlines strategic options to unlock the region’s potential and to strengthen cooperation for the development of the bioeconomy.
